Our staff has a wealth of experience in the financial education area, including backgrounds in economic development, affordable housing, matched savings programs, curriculum design, and counseling. As homeowners, they bring a special sensitivity and knowledge to their work with FEA clients.


Jacqueline Cooper, AFC, FFC, President/Executive Director


JACQUELINE COOPER founded Financial Education Associates in November 2001. In demand as an instructor of home buying classes, Jacqueline started FEA to present unbiased information to people seeking to put their finances in order to achieve home ownership and other financial goals. Her certifications include Accredited Financial Counselor through the Association for Financial Counseling, Planning and Education (AFCPE), Financial Fitness Coach (AFCPE), and HUD Certified Housing Counselor (HUD).

Jacqueline has a Masters in City Planning degree specializing in Housing, Community & Economic Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s of Science in Management Information Systems from Northeastern University.


Linda Warren Cato, Instructor and Counselor


LINDA WARREN CATO boasts more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry. As an avid researcher of personal finance information, she is compelled to share her knowledge about finance with others. She was hired by Homeownership is Possible in 1995 to teach first-time homebuyer classes for the Boston Home Center.

She has worked with FEA as a trainer since 1997. Linda has taught homeownership, credit and budgeting classes. She is a HUD Certified Housing Counselor. Linda has a Bachelor's of Science in business Management from Cambridge College.


Kimberly Zimmerman Rand, Instructor and Counselor


KIMBERLY ZIMMERMAN RAND has held a number of management positions in community-based organizations in Boston, including founding and managing matched savings account programs, homebuyer education and microenterprise development programs for more than 12 years.

She is a certified Homebuyer Education Trainer through Neighborworks America, an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFCPE), Financial Fitness Coach (AFCPE), and HUD Certified Housing Counselor.

Kimberly has a Master of Social Work degree in Social and Economic Development and Management from Washington University  and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Colby College.


Lawrence Ward, Instructor 


LAWRENCE WARD is a leadership trainer, family counselor, and technical writer. He began working with FEA as a trainer in 2002. He is motivated to lead financial education classes by his understanding that many family problems stem from the lack of knowledge about personal finances and the conflicts that result.

Lawrence has a Bachelor of Science in Technical Writing from Northeastern University and holds a Master of Education degree specializing in Curriculum Design from the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
